First Baptist Franklin will be sending a mission team to Honduras on July 20-27. This will be the sixth year that this team has provided vacation Bible school for the Las Vegas Bordo Community in San Pedro Sula. The children from this impoverished squatter village look forward to their return every year. The team is also anxious to return as friendships have grown deep over the 6 years.
The theme this year year is Tower of Babel which will be a perfect platform to explain why they speak Spanish and we speak English. They will also discuss nations and races and will end with “God loves every tribe, every tongue and every nation.” A good message for those ostracized by their own culture because of the poverty.
The team would appreciate prayer for open hearts for those they meet. In the past years they have seen 30 to 40 salvations each year. Prayer is also requested for safety, the ability to withstand the intense heat, health, and journey mercies.
